OSINT Global Consulting is an independent digital research practice with one job: doing the systematic, documented desk work that investigations and litigation run on — so licensed investigators and attorneys can spend their hours on the judgment calls only they can make. We don't compete with licensed professionals. We sit behind them.
Twenty years ago, an investigator's desk research was a courthouse trip and a phone book. Today every case carries a digital layer: dockets across multiple counties, corporate registries in three states, and online content that can vanish before anyone thought to preserve it. The volume of legitimate public-source research per case has exploded — but the hours in a licensee's week haven't.
Most agencies respond one of two ways: the licensee does it all personally, at the cost of interviews, surveillance, and client work — or it gets done fast and thin, with screenshots that won't survive a foundation objection. What the field lacks is a dedicated desk that does the digital legwork to a documented, reviewable standard and then hands it back to the professional whose license, judgment, and name go on the file. That's the gap this practice fills.
The structure is deliberate: we research, log, and organize; the licensed professional reviews, verifies, and delivers. Where no third party is being researched — assessing your own digital exposure, or training your team — we work with clients directly. We never blur those lanes.
OSINT Global Consulting is founded and led by Dr. Leland Smith — doctoral-level research discipline applied to open-source intelligence: systematic collection, source evaluation, corroboration, and documentation that stands up when someone hostile reads it. That discipline is the product. Every engagement is handled by Dr. Smith personally — clients talk to the analyst doing the work, not an account manager.
Every finding is tied to a verifiable public source with the date and method of collection, and flagged by corroboration status: confirmed, single-source, or open gap. We never dress an inference up as a fact.
Work that constitutes an investigation of a person is performed only in support of, and under the direction of, a licensed investigator or attorney — who reviews and owns the final work product. Direct engagements are limited to your own exposure and your team's training.
Court records, business filings, property and licensing records, and publicly visible online content. No pretexting, no fake profiles, no contact with subjects or their circles, no access to private accounts, no purchased restricted data. Ever.
White-label means white-label: NDAs signed as a matter of course, deliverables formatted for your review and your brand, and no client of yours ever hears our name unless you choose to share it.
We're not an investigative agency, a data broker, or an hourly consultancy. We're a fixed-scope research desk that answers defined research questions with documented, source-linked work product.
A 20-minute call is the fastest way to see whether the desk fits your caseload — bring one live matter and we'll scope it on the spot.
